Fetal surgery

Fetal surgery includes a broad extent of surgical techniques which are utilized as a part of treatment to birth deficiencies in fetuses who are still in the pregnant uterus.There are three major sorts: open fetal surgery, which includes complete opening of the uterus in order to perform on the fetus; nominal invasive fetoscopic surgery, this surgery involves usage of small incisions which is guided by sonography and fetoscopy; and the third one is percutaneous fetal therapy, this therapy includes a placement of catheter under the regular ultrasound guidance.

Most issues don't require or are not treatable through fetal intervention. The special cases are anatomical issues for which remedy in utero is feasible and might be of an advantage in the future improvement and survival of the fetus. Early correction (preceding birth) of these issues will probably build the chances of a healthy and moderately "normal" baby.

The pregnant woman bears to such an extent, if not more, risk as her fetus during any type of fetal intervention. Other than the general risk that any surgery bears, there is a risk to the wellbeing of the mother's uterus, possibly constraining her capacity to hold up more children.
