Antidepressants are a kind of drugs utilised for the diagnosis of leading depressive disorder and other saturation, including anxiety disorders, obsessive neurotic disorder, eating disorders, chronic pain, neuropathic pain and, in some cases, dysmenorrhoea, snoring, migraine, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), addiction, dependence, and sleep disorders. They may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medications.

How antidepressants work:

It's thought that antidepressants work by enhancing levels of a group of chemicals in the communicating artery called neurotransmitters. Certain neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and noradrenaline, can improve good humor and emotion, although this process isn't fully understood.

Accelerative levels of neurotransmitters can also disrupt pain signals sent by nerves, which may explain why some antidepressants can support relieve long-term pain.
